How Much Disinfectant is Safe?

Date: Feb 23, 2021

We help businesses of all kinds, keep their business disinfected from COVID and other germs, with an easy to implement, proven systems that are affordable, guaranteed.

Like most things, too much of a good thing can be harmful. Over-concentration of disinfectant can have adverse health effects for you, your family, employees, and customers. My daughter has asthma, and she spent a lot of time in her young life at the hospital.  Her symptoms continuously increased when the school year started, drastically affecting her. I believe it was a combination of things: the disinfectant they used at the school, being in close contact with her friends and fellow students, etc. However, thinking about this, I recognized that you need to be very careful with the concentration and amount of chemicals you use.  That is why I did my research and have written this article for you.

Yes, the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency Number) and Health Canada (DIN #) have approved disinfectants for COVID.  However, they support them as viable solutions, with the proper dwell time and contact time, to kill the COVID virus. They did not evaluate the long-term effects of ingredients. They were just in a hurry to list effective products after the arrival of COVID. With the increased use of disinfectants, as recommended by the experts, some people who are not adequately trained might think that more is better, endangering long-term health.  The environment can also be affected by the overuse of harsh chemicals, primarily when used outside. It could seep into the aquifer and get into our groundwater.

My personal choice is a Hydrogen Peroxide-based disinfectant approved by the EPA, Health Canada and endorsed by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). The reason is simple.  It simply breaks down to water and oxygen, so how can that harm anything?  We use a hydrogen peroxide-based product to disinfect water instead of using chlorine. We have never seen anyone have issues with health, even when it is over-used.  I have been using it in our water purification & disinfection business for over 15 years, and it actually is beneficial to your health.

Harsh chemicals can be a slow killer indoors and in closed spaces, slowly compromising your immune system and eventually making you ill. Think about your reaction when you smell chlorine in the pool when someone uses too much.  Chlorine is bleach and releases THM’s (trihalomethanes) as a by-product. THMs, form when chlorine reacts with organic matter. Many studies over the years have linked long-term exposure to THMs to a wide variety of illnesses, including cancer, organ failure, and problems with pregnancy & birth. Our intention is not to alarm you.  We just want to make sure that you have the facts so that you can make your own informed decisions. We urge you to always read labels and only apply the right amount of disinfectant, no matter what you choose to use.

P.S.  We offer 2000 sq ft worth of disinfectant “FREE” for first-time buyers of $100 or more of any of our product.
